Three bedrooms in Vero Beach: three ways to do it

We manage three separate three-bedroom options in Vero Beach, and the choice between them comes down to one thing most listing pages bury: whether the pool outside your door is yours alone or shared with the neighbours in the same building. Vero Beach Serenity is a standalone house with a private pool and room for eight. The other two, Vero Beach Paradise Unit 1 and Unit 3, are condo units in a three-unit property where the pool and the outdoor space are shared. Same bedroom count, genuinely different trips.
The house with its own pool, and the den nobody expects
If your group is eight people and you want to be the only ones in the water, book Serenity. Three bedrooms sleep seven of you across two king suites and a queen room, and the office den has a pullout couch that takes the eighth. That den is the part worth paying attention to: it means a family travelling with an extra adult, or a teenager who wants a door, doesn't have to put anyone on a living room sofa in the open.
The outdoor setup is where the house earns its keep for Florida in any month with bugs in it. The BBQ and seating area is screened in, so dinner outside stays dinner outside. There's a separate outdoor dining area beyond it, sun loungers at the pool, and a garden around the edge. Two living rooms inside means the people watching TV and the people reading are not negotiating.
Two details that decide bookings more often than you'd think: there's a crib, and there are blackout curtains. Parents of a napping toddler will know exactly what that combination is worth in a state where the light comes up early and hard.
Unit 1 and Unit 3: same building, different beds
These two are condo units in one property divided into three, and the pool and outdoor space outside them are shared. We say that plainly because it changes your trip: you may have company at the water, and the grill area isn't exclusively yours. In exchange you get a central Vero position, a two-minute drive from the Jackie Robinson training complex, a short run to the airport, under ten minutes to downtown, and about a quarter of an hour out to the beaches.
The difference between them is beds, not square footage.
- Unit 1 sleeps seven: one queen, two twins, and a full trundle with a twin underneath. Two bathrooms. Good for a family with three or four kids who are fine sharing rooms.
- Unit 3 sleeps six: one queen and four twins, also across two bathrooms. Only one adult-sized bed, which is the thing to check before you book. Two couples will not be comfortable here.
Both have an outdoor shower, which is the single most useful fixture in a beach rental and the one people forget to look for. Sand stays outside. Both keep books, toys and children's dinnerware in the unit, which tells you who stays in them most.
Picking by headcount, which is usually how this actually goes
Work backwards from the number of people and the choice makes itself:
- Six: any of the three works. Unit 3 if you want to be close to downtown and don't mind sharing a pool; Serenity if you'd rather have the pool and two living rooms to yourselves.
- Seven: Serenity or Unit 1.
- Eight: Serenity, using the den.
- More than eight: the three-bedroom options stop here. Vero Beach Paradise is the whole three-unit building booked as one, eight bedrooms and five bathrooms, sleeping sixteen. You can keep the units locked off from each other or open the connecting doors and run it as one house. For two or three families travelling together who want separation at night and one pool during the day, it solves a problem the individual units can't.
What's in all three, and what it means for your first night
Every one of these has a real kitchen: oven, stove, dishwasher, cookware, a toaster and a blender, plus a dining table big enough to eat at together. Each has a washer and dryer, free parking, Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace, which matters more than it used to now that half of every family trip includes someone taking a call. Pets are allowed at all three.
You let yourself in with a smart lock, so a late flight is not a problem, and there's a starter kit waiting: coffee, sugar, dish soap, laundry and dishwasher pods, paper towels, toilet paper and toiletries in each bathroom. It's a starter kit, not a grocery shop, so plan a store run for day two. Support runs around the clock if something isn't right at eleven at night.
Where these homes actually put you
The central Vero position the two units share is less glamorous than the barrier island and considerably more practical. You're close to the airport, close to downtown, and the beach parks are a short drive east rather than a walk. Humiston Park, with its shaded playground and the shops of Ocean Drive right there, is the easy one with small children. Round Island Oceanside Park sits south of downtown, about eight miles out, and gets named the best thing to do in town more often than anywhere else. Further north, Wabasso Beach Park, Treasure Shores and the beach accesses at Seagrape Trail and Turtle Trail string along the island, and most mornings you'll have more sand than people.
For a day that isn't the beach: McKee Botanical Garden sits on eighteen acres of tropical hammock, and the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Riverside Theatre and Riverside Park cluster together along the Indian River. The Saturday morning farmers market oceanside is produce, handmade things and live music, and it's the most pleasant way to start a Saturday here. Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge is north of town if anyone in the group cares about birds.
Eating out, the names locals give you are Ocean Grill and the Riverside Cafe on the water, The Tides and Trattoria Dario if you want a sit-down dinner, and The Crab Stop when the kids want to make a mess. Later on, Bobby's Restaurant & Lounge and Kelley's Irish Pub are where the evening goes.
Drives from the house: Sebastian is about twenty minutes north, and Sebastian Inlet State Park roughly half an hour, which makes it a genuine morning trip rather than an expedition. Fort Pierce and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are twenty-odd minutes south. Orlando and the parks are close to two hours northwest, which is doable as a long day if you leave early and accept you'll be driving home tired.
How to book one
Send us your dates and your exact headcount and we'll tell you which of the three is open and which one fits your sleeping arrangements, because that second part is where people go wrong. Unit 3's four twins are perfect for one family and wrong for two couples; Serenity's den is the difference between eight people sleeping well and eight people compromising.
We book direct, with no platform in the middle. These homes are locally managed, cleaned to a hotel standard between stays, and if you need something at midnight there's someone to text. A rental agreement and ID verification are required at these properties under local compliance rules. It's handled through a simple, secure website before you arrive, no app and no account to create, and it gives you a guest portal with everything about the home in it.
